Büchel AFB 2007
On May 10th 2007 KNVOL Woensdrecht had arranged a base visit at Buchel AFB in Germany. A few GRAS members where invited to fill up some chairs in the bus. Buchel is the home base for Jagdbommergeschwader 31 which holds only Tornado's.
Due to a miscommunication we didn't see 15 Tornado's landing from a mission. Cpt. "Happy" had the honor of guiding us around the base. This very enthousiastic pilot took us to one of the shelters and showed and explained different types of bombs and weapons. Later in the afternoon he took us to the middle of the runway for some Tornado action. Besides the weather and slow pace of the day it was a nice base visit.
