Spangdahlem AFB 2007

On May 11th 2007 KNVOL Woensdrecht had arranged a base visit at Spangdahlem AFB in Germany. A few GRAS members where invited to fill up some chairs in the bus. Spangdahlem is the home base for the American 52nd Fighter Wing which holds C-5's C-17's, A-10's and F-16's.

It was a cold rainy day with a lot of wind. Due to a super compact presentation we got to the planes on time, but as most fridays this isn't the day you can expect major flying action. Nevertheless Capt. "Teflon" (An A-10 pilot) gave us a very nice tour including some time in the A-10 flight simulator. We went to the several areas of the base which housed quite some different planes. I think the C-5 / C-17 line up was quite a nice view.
